chess-glasses

project

A chess coach in your glasses: it watches the board through the camera and says the best move in your ear.

A drawing of the loop: the glasses video-call a Mac at home on Instagram, the Mac reads the board, and Stockfish's knight f3 goes back to the glassesA drawing of the loop: the glasses video-call a Mac at home on Instagram, the Mac reads the board, and Stockfish's knight f3 goes back to the glasses

What it does

From the glasses you video-call a second Instagram account open on a Mac at home. The Mac takes a frame from the call every three seconds and Claude reads the board.

Each reading is matched against the legal moves of the game, so a blurry frame or a hand over the board does not invent a move. Stockfish finds the reply and the Mac speaks it back into the call.

Where it stands

Runs on a Mac; tested end to end with Ray-Ban Meta glasses on 2026-10-19. Built for training and games where the other player knows. The code is public: github.com/Keremozdemirra/chess-glasses opens in a new tab
